Scorpion Bowl
A legendary Tiki communal punch created by Victor 'Trader Vic' Bergeron in the 1940s. It is a complex, refreshing, and deceptively potent mixture of rums, brandy, and citrus, tied together by the nutty sweetness of orgeat.

Ingredients
- 6 ozLight Rum(or a blend of silver and gold rums)
- 1 ozBrandy(cognac works well)
- 0.5 ozGin(adds floral complexity)
- 6 ozFresh Orange Juice(freshly squeezed)
- 4 ozFresh Lemon Juice(freshly squeezed)
- 1.5 ozOrgeat Syrup(almond syrup)
- 2 ozWhite Wine(optional; used in original Trader Vic's recipe)
Garnish: A bouquet of fresh mint sprigs, orange wheels, maraschino cherries, and an edible flower (like a Gardenia).
Instructions
- 1Fill a blender or a large shaker halfway with crushed ice.
- 2Add the rum, brandy, gin, orange juice, lemon juice, and orgeat syrup.
- 3Flash blend for 5 seconds or shake vigorously until well-chilled.
- 4Pour the entire contents (including ice) into a large ceramic Scorpion bowl.
- 5Top with additional crushed ice to fill the bowl if necessary.
- 6Provide long straws for communal drinking.
