A drier, more complex variation of the Bronx cocktail that emerged during the Prohibition era. The addition of Angostura bitters adds a subtle depth that supposedly reflects the bitterness of paying taxes, though the result is surprisingly balanced and refreshing.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ozGin(London Dry)
  • 3/4 ozDry Vermouth
  • 3/4 ozSweet Vermouth
  • 1/2 ozOrange Juice(Freshly squeezed)
  • 2 dashesAngostura Bitters

Garnish: Orange twist

Instructions

  1. 1Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. 2Shake vigorously until well-chilled.
  3. 3Double strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
  4. 4Garnish with an orange twist.
